It’s from here that we have one of today’s parodoxes: there’s both the “invisibles” starving and the “substancials” overweight. The former forced to rummage between the leftovers of a big city market, becoming the new unexpected poor; just a sample of the more than 3 million people forced to ask for help or to make do. The latter, always full, suffering from obesity, suffering from an illness, protagonists of the reality show “My 600-lb life”, serving themselves to the audience. Extras in a mediatic circus, looking for their “15 minutes of fame”.
